Solaris SPARCserver 490 provides tactical users with a total systemsolution when combined with Solaris' rugged workstations. SS-490's 22MIPS of computational power and system design flexibility can be enhancedby utilizing a broad selection of VME cards integrated by Solaris' teamof hardware and software specialists dedicated to meeting the mostdemanding system application requirements.Solaris SPARCserver 490 can be further enhanced with the addition of VXand MVX Visualization Accelerators when configured as a Solaris SPARC-based workstation. Available as commercial, off-the-shelf Non-Developmental Items (NDI), Solaris rugged file servers and workstationsare manufactured to be used in C3I mobile (Mil-E-4158), airborne (Mil-E-5400), and shipboard (Mil-E16400) applications. "Designed to meetTEMPEST" (NACSIM 5100 A) and EMI/RFI (Mil-Std-461B), Solaris rugged fileservers are being used in severe environments in which standardcommercial equipment cannot survive.
